My paintings are about expressing moods and atmospheres created by the ever changing climate, they are equally about creating space and a quality of light only found in Scotland. I am not interested in making a literal statement in my work. My subject matter is only a springboard, a starting point for a journey, taking one into unknown territory. There are many considerations to take into account such as changing spatial relationships, composition, emotional response, memory and imagination |
